Rakshabandhan likely to be rainy day in various parts of State
Rakshabandhan is likely to be a rainy day in various parts of the State. Two districts are forecast to experience heavy rainfall. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun and Uttarkashi districts on Thursday. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places with intense showers possible at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State. Further, light rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in plains of Uttarakhand.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense in some areas.The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Wednesday were 35.2 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36.2 degrees Celsius and 27.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.1 degrees Celsius and 16.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.2 degrees Celsius and 19.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. There was at least 34.5 millimetres of rain in Dehradun, 29 millimetres in Bageshwar and 18 millimetres in Nainital on Wednesday.
