Heavy rains on Thursday night caused considerable damage in Pagno village of Chamoli district. One home in the village was completely damaged while landslide debris entering various homes in the village forced the residents to move to safer places. Many of the villagers have kept their important household items in the Panchayat building. The team of the district administration is assessing the damage in the village.
Landslides after rainfall in the Pagno village caused considerable damage on Thursday night. About 53 families in the village have been affected by the landslide. The heavy rain and landslide occurred late on Thursday night with rainwater and landslide debris entering the homes of the villagers. As the weather cleared on Friday, the villagers shifted important household items to secure locations. Gram Pradhan Reema Devi informed that the villagers are living in fear due to the landslide.
