Heavy to very heavy rain likely in Dehradun & four other districts today

Heavy rains on Monday night caused considerable disruption in Dehradun and also damaged various roads especially on the outskirts of the provisional State capital. The inclement weather is likely to continue as the State meteorological centre has issued an orange alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Dehradun and four other districts on Wednesday.
The meteorological centre has issued a warning (alert) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain/thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and very intense to extremely intense spells likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital and Champawat districts today. It has also issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of the State. Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital and Champawat districts and at many places in the remaining districts today.
For Dehradun, the meteorological centre has forecast a partly to generally cloudy sky. Heavy to very heavy rain/thundershowers are likely to occur in some parts. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. On Tuesday there was 11.4 millimetres rain in Dehradun, 12.2 millimetres in Pantnagar, 73 millimetres in Kotdwar, 69 millimetres in Kalsi, 57 millimetres in Tanakpur and 54 millimetres in Narendranagar. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places were 31.4 degrees Celsius and 25.1 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 33 degrees Celsius and 25.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.1 degrees Celsius and 16.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.7 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
