Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in eight districts today

The meteorological centre has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Nainital, Champawat, Tehri, Pauri, Dehradun, Haridwar, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts of Uttarakhand on Thursday. Besides this, heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts.
According to the weather report, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and very intense / extremely intense spells are likely to occur at isolated places in the State too. The sky in Dehradun is expected to be partly to generally cloudy. A few spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur besides one or two spells that may be intense or heavy in some areas on Monday.
The maximum temperature is likely to remain around 29°C in the provisional capital of the State. In view of the weather alert, the state administration has directed officials concerned of the districts to stay alert and be prepared to tackle any probable disaster.
