Heli ambulance to be provided to pregnant during monsoon: CM

Dhami mentions several measures to mitigate the rain-inflicted damages

In latest news from Doon, with monsoon approaching, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officers of all departments concerned to ensure that the damage excessive rain caused last year do not recur this time. Among the slew of measures the CM mentioned to take on the monsoon challenge included providing heli ambulance service to the pregnant women and the sick.  In view of several bridge collapse incidents reported last year, he stressed on conducting safety audit of all STP plants and bridges of the State.

Averring that the damages heavy rain causes must be mitigated anyhow, Dhami said that in case crops are damaged, the quantum of damage must be ascertained and compensation is paid to the entitled at the earliest.  In another important directive, the CM said that a new SDRF battalion would come up at Sarya Pani in Almora district. He emphasised on decreasing the response time and completing all monsoon-related works by June 15- the time monsoon usually arrives in Uttarakhand.
