Helicopter service inaugurated between Uttarkashi & Dehradun

A helicopter service between Joshiyada helipad in Uttarkashi and Dehradun was virtually inaugurated by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday. The Joshiyada helipad constructed at a cost of Rs 90.78 lakh was also inaugurated on the occasion. Speaking at the event in Uttarkashi, Gangotri MLA Suresh Chauhan thanked the CM while saying that the State government is undertaking unprecedented works for the development of the State.
He said that works amounting to more than Rs 100 crore have been approved and are underway for construction and maintenance of roads in the Gangotri Assembly constituency. The start of the helicopter service will boost tourism and pilgrimage activities in the district, he said. District magistrate Meharban Singh Bisht spoke about the arrangements made for the operation of the helicopter service, adding that there is considerable enthusiasm in the public regarding this service.
The helicopter from Dehradun was greeted enthusiastically on landing in Joshiyada. Following the formal inauguration on Thursday, Pawan Hans Limited will operate this service regularly from Monday to Saturday from November 13. The chopper will depart from Dehradun at 12 PM and from Joshiyada at 1 PM.
