The portals of Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara were reopened for devotees ritually on Sunday. While a band from Punjab played, the Panj Pyare led the ritual placing of the Guru Granth Sahib in the Gurudwara.
The portals of the Gurudwara were opened to the public at 10 AM on Sunday. The Gurudwara committee has spruced up the arrangements at the site. As seen in the Char Dham Yatra, there is considerable enthusiasm among devotees visiting Hemkund Sahib as this pilgrimage too is being held properly after a gap of two years when it could not be held properly due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The main Granthis, Sardar Milap Singh and Sardar Kulwant recited Sukhmani, Shabad Kirtan and the first Ardas of this year at the Gurudwara on the occasion. There were about 5,000 persons at this high altitude location when the portals of the Gurudwara were opened to the public. The Hemkund Gurudwara management trust vice chairman Narendrajeet Singh Bindra said that much enthusiasm is being seen among the devotees as this pilgrimage is being held properly this year after the Covid pandemic prevented the same during the past two years.
