Saturday, 18 September 2021 | PNS | Joshimath

With the Char Dham shrines being opened for the public from Saturday, the portals of Hemkund Sahib will also be opened for devotees from today. In view of Covid-19, certain conditions will have to be followed by the pilgrims.

As per the conditions kept in view of Covid-19, only 1,000 pilgrims will be allowed to visit the Gurudwara in a day. The Hemkund Sahib Trust has completed necessary arrangements for the pilgrimage. Residents of the Bhyundar valley in Chamoli district are happy with this development. The local hospitality businesses had opened here with the opening of the Valley of Flowers earlier and with this the pilgrims to Hemkund will not face inconvenience.

Hemkund Sahib Trust vice chairman NS Bindra said that pilgrims will be allowed to visit the Gurudwara as per the Covid guidelines. Further, they will be allowed to move ahead on the pilgrimage only after procuring their registration certificate from the Rishikesh Gurudwara Trust.
