Hemkund Sahib to close for winter on October 11, pilgrimage picks up as weather clears

The pilgrimage to Hemkund Sahib is in its last stage with the Gurudwara slated to be closed to the public on October 11. The number of people visiting the shrine has increased recently after the clearing of the weather. According to officials, more than 1,62,000 people have visited Hemkund Sahib so far this year. The Hemkund Sahib management trust chairman Narendrajit Singh Bindra informed that the pilgrimage has picked up after the weather cleared recently. The number of visitors has also increased as the Gurudwara is set to close for the winter later this month.
