The Hemkund Sahib Yatra 2024 is commencing on May 25 and the portals of the shrine will be closed on October 10. The schedule of the Yatra was fixed in the course of the meeting the chief secretary Radha Raturi had with the chairman of Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Management Trust Narinder Jit Singh Bindra here on Thursday. After the meeting was over, Bindra said that the Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Management Trust was grateful to the State government and the chief secretary for extending full support in ensuring smooth planning of this sacred Yatra. “We informed the chief secretary that the trust had firmed up the schedule of this Yatra and the State government’s nod to it was required. The chief secretary agreed to the schedule we had chalked out and the schedule was finalised,” Bindra said.
“This annual pilgrimage holds immense spiritual significance for the devotees, in general, and those belonging to the Sikh community, in particular,” he said. “Thousands look forward to the schedule of the Yatra being finalised so that they can plan their pilgrimage accordingly. The sooner the schedule is fixed, the smoother the Yatra is. People get ample time to plan things in advance. We are relieved that the Yatra schedule has been fixed at today’s meeting with the chief secretary,” he added.
