Hemkund Yatra commences, portals to open on Saturday

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Hemkund Sahib Yatra has commenced with the first jatha of pilgrims having started off from Gurudwara Govind Ghat. Among those present during the start of the annual pilgrimage were Seva Singh from the gurudwara and the vice president of Badri Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC) Kishor Panwar. Prior to the start, akhand path and kirtan were held.
The portals of Hemkund Shib will be opened at 9.30 am on May 25. As part of crowd control management, the administration has capped the daily number of pilgrims at 3,500.
