High tech bee culture training centre to come up Champawat

 Immediately after the resignation of BJP MLA Kailash Gehtodi, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave the gift of high tech Bee Training centre to Champawat. He gave direction to the officers of horticulture department regarding the training centre in Champawat during a honey extraction programme organised at CM’s residence on Thursday. He said that the Bee keeping should be taken up as a pilot project. The CM directed that the a detailed PPT presentation covering all aspects of Bee keeping should be made.

Dhami had recently directed the in charge horticulture of the CM’s residence Deepak Purohit to develop the premises as a model for horticulture activities so that the visitors to the CM residence get a firsthand experience and information about modern techniques in horticulture. Bee hives were placed in garden of the CM’s residence as part of the programme. The director horticulture Harminder Singh Baweja said that apart from producing honey the bees increased the agricultural output by increasing the pollination. Similarly the products such as royal jelly, propolis, bee wax,  pollen, comb honey and bee venom are also produced by  the bee keepers.  He said that the bees help in maintaining ecological balance and bio diversity. The director added that bee keeping provides additional income for the farmers.

The cabinet minister Chandan Ram Das, former MLA Kailash Gehtodi, bee keepers Ramesh Baijwal , Rajendra Solanki and others were present on the occasion.
