The State government has approved the proposal of the Higher Education department to regularise the services of 268 assistant professors. These assistant professors have completed the probationary period of two years following which cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat endorsed the proposal to regularise their services.
Rawat said that the State government is committed to ensuring quality education and promoting practical, research and innovative approaches in the higher education sector of the State. The government is also working consistently for the in-service training of the teachers.
The assistant professors who will be made permanent include 71 in Political Science, 71 in Hindi, 26 of Education, 35 of Sanskrit, 35 of Economics, 13 of Home Science, five of Social Science, four of History, two each of Geography and Physics and one each in Chemistry, Zoology and English.
Rawat said that the decision to make the assistant professors permanent will not only benefit them but will also help in maintaining academic quality in the higher education sector.
