Higher Education Dept holds workshop on research

With an objective of promoting research works in the government colleges, a one day State level workshop in online mode was organised on Monday. The workshop was organised under joint aegis of the Higher Education directorate, University Grants Commission (UGC) and HRDC Kumaon University Nainital.
Addressing the workshop the higher education secretary Shailesh Bagauli said that research is needed in the subjects of medicinal plants, adventure tourism, skill development, religious tourism and self employment. He said that the higher education department and the government colleges of the State are committed to setting up new standards in education and research.
The keynote address in the workshop was delivered by Rajat Agarwal of IIT Roorkee. He elaborately discussed the subject of the selection of the topic of research and research paper writing. He said that the research scholars should send proposals for research on the important issues and problems of the State to the government. The vice chancellor of Kumaon University N K Joshi informed the participants about the efforts undertaken by the government for research promotion.
The additional secretary Prashant Arya and principals of government colleges of the State participated in the event.
