After a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the State higher education department and the British High Commission on Chevening Scholarship on Wednesday, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the State higher education department has been consistently developing the human resources of Uttarakhand.
The higher education department secretary Shailesh Bagoli signed the MoU with the British Deputy High Commissioner to India Caroline Rowett.
Lauding the initiative, the CM said that the MoU between the British High Commission and Infosys Springboard with the State higher education department is all set to herald new era in the field of higher education in Uttarakhand. “This marks an important step towards connecting the State with the international education system,” he said and added that in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the government here has been hosting skill development training and seminars in higher educational institutions.
Speaking on the matter, the State higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that under the proposed cooperation and agreement, the expenses would be shared equally by Chevening and the State government.
“Besides, Springboard Infosys will provide IT-based free training modules for teachers and free courses for students under corporate social responsibility (CSR) on its virtual platform with the courses being selected in accordance with the NEP and offered as optional courses,” he added.
