Higher Education Dept to reward 129 youngsters recruited to armed forces

The State government will give a reward of Rs 65.50 lakh to 129 candidates who cleared the entrance examinations for recruitment in the armed forces of the country.

The Higher Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the Higher Education department has started a special financial assistance scheme to encourage the youngsters preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), State Public Service Commission and armed forces recruitment. Under the scheme a sum of Rs 50,000 each will be provided to the candidates clearing these examinations.

The minister said that 129 youngsters of the State who have cleared recruitment examinations of armed forces in the first six months of 2024-25 will be rewarded. He informed that 27 students have been selected for National Defence Academy (NDA) , 27 in Indian Military Academy (IMA), 14 in Indian Naval Academy (INA), 31 in Officers Training Academy (OTA) and 30 in Indian Air Force Academy (IAFA).

 The minister said that the scheme has instilled awareness and confidence in the youngsters aspiring for these examinations.
