Higher temperatures to continue for two more days

Even as some parts of the state received light rain on Sunday, the weather remained generally hot in most parts of the state. The State meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in the state’s districts on Monday. The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.  The meteorological centre has also forecast that the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain four to six degrees Celsius above normal at a few places in the state for the next 48 hours and decrease gradually thereafter. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various places on Sunday were 34.4 degrees Celsius and 18.1 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.6 degrees Celsius and 16.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 23.7 degrees Celsius and 10.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar, 24.6 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Apart from this, the rainfall measured at various places in the state from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM on Sunday was 11 millimetres in Lakhamandal, 11 millimetres in Naugaon, 5.5 millimetres in Tapovan, 3.5 millimetres in Jankichatti and three millimetres in Badrinath.
