Highest ever power generation by UJVNL’s 118- year- old Galogi project

The Galogi Hydroelectric Project of Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL), located near Mussoorie, has generated the highest amount of electricity since its inception more than a century ago. Giving this information, the managing director, UJVNL, Sandeep Singhal said that the Galogi Hydroelectric Project of 3.50 MW installed capacity, located between Kyarkuli and Bhatta villages on Mussoorie Road in Dehradun district, has generated 8.075 million units of electricity in the Financial Year 2024-25, which is the highest electricity generation of any year since the construction of the project. “Earlier, 7.96 million units generated by this project in FY 2023-24 was the highest of any FY,” he said, adding that the corporation operates this project by preserving it as a historical heritage.
Notably, Galogi project was established in 1907 during the British rule whose main objective was to supply electricity and water to Mussoorie region.
