In protest against the increasing tariffs of power and water bills in Uttarakhand the former chief minister Harish Rawat held a one hour silent fast at his Delhi residence on Wednesday.
Before sitting on the fast, Rawat said that he waited for long in hope that some protest or voice would be raised against increasing tariffs of electricity and water and hike in house tax. He said that in view of the increasing prices the people of the lower middle class are already suffering a lot and increased tariff and house tax has made things more difficult for them.
Rawat appealed that more people should come forward and raise their voice against the tariff hike and increase in the house tax. He requested the State government to provide some relief to the people in the upcoming budget.
