The department of Anaesthesiology of Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) organised a one- day Mid-Term RSACPCON 2023 under the aegis of Research Society of Anaesthesiology and Clinical Pharmacology on Thursday.
The academic programme comprised continuing medical education (CME) along with three workshops- Advanced Airway Skills Workshop, Labour Analgesia and Communication Skills workshops- with the participation of the resource faculty from some premier institutes of the country. The organisers of the event claimed that it witnessed the participation of around 175, including anaesthesiologists, MBBS students and other health care providers, adding that the CME programme involved guest lectures and panel discussions on varied topics.
Speaking about the event, the SRHU chancellor Vijay Dhasmana said that this initiative encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine and pain medicine and would go a long way in helping reduce suffering of the patients, adding that the national-level conference was aimed at welfare of the entire humankind.
The SRHU vice chancellor Rajendra Dobhal who inaugurated the programme said that the event stressed on the role of communication in medical fraternity while the director general of Academic Development of the university Vijendra D Chauhan dwelt on the legacy left by Swami Rama whom he lauded as a visionary.
