The list of the Padma awards 2022 is out and Indian hockey player Vandana Katariya with artist and folk singer Madhuri Barthwal and environmentalist Basanti Devi from Uttarakhand state have been named for the prestigious Padma Shri award, the fourth highest civilian award of India. The announcement was made on the occasion of Republic Day. Vandana rose to fame after she became the first woman to score a hat-trick at the Olympics. Barthwal became the first woman to be a music composer in All India Radio. Prominent environmentalist Basanti Devi has done commendable work in saving environment.
