 Hog Deer count in CTR rises by 10 in census

The director of Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR), Saket Badola informed that a total of 189 hog deer had been recorded in the latest census completed in Corbett National Park, Ramnagar this year. He further said that this marks an increase of 10 from the previous count of 179, adding that this rise in their numbers is a positive indicator for the ecosystem.

Significantly, 175 of the 189 hog deer have been found in the Dhikala range alone, highlighting this zone’s importance in supporting herbivore populations.
