Holding cycling events a challenge for U’khand: Arya

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the State Sports minister Rekha Arya watched the final of the cycling competition held at the newly constructed Shivalik Cycling Velodrome in Manoj Sarkar Stadium in Rudrapur as part of the ongoing 38th National Games and later gave away the prizes to the winners.
In her address, Arya said that holding the cycling competition here as part of the national-level mega sports event was a daunting challenge for the State. “The host States used to have the event conducted in Delhi because there were a few cycling velodromes in the country,” she said, adding that this was the first time when the State hosting the National Games had organised the event within its boundaries.
