Holi brawl in Nehru Colony: 3 booked for assault

A dispute broke out during Holi celebration between two groups near a wedding point on Haridwar Bypass Road under the Nehru Colony police station area. As per the complaint filed, some allegedly created a ruckus and attacked some young men by breaking glass bottles on their heads. The video of the incident went viral on social media platforms.
Eye witnesses said that the accused youths had also misbehaved with girls. Following a complaint, police have registered a case against three identified accused and some other unidentified people.
As per information received from police, Ayush Bangari, a resident of Jogiwala, had gone to the spot to celebrate Holi with his friends Shreyansh, Akshat, Arihant and some others. Around 3 PM, some youths came and created trouble. When Ayush objected, they abused, pushed and beat him and also his friends. The accused also hit them with glass bottles and misbehaved with the girls present there. They even threatened Ayush and his friends with dire consequences.
Speaking of the matter, the Nehru Colony police station in-charge Sanjit Kumar said that based on the complaint filed by Ayush Bangari, a case has been registered against Amit Rangad, Sarthak Rangad and Nitin along with other people involved in the incident. The police have started an investigation into the matter, he added.
