Holistic mental healthcare cell to come up for govt employees

The State Mental Health Authority (MHA) proposed a holistic mental healthcare cell to support mental health and emotional resilience of the government employees. Conceptualised by the joint director of the State Mental Health Authority Sumit Deb Barman, it has come up following the directive of the High Court of Uttarakhand and the chief secretary of the State. This initiative aligns with the Mental Healthcare Act (MHCA), 2017, aiming to integrate modern psychiatric treatments with the traditional and Ayurveda holistic wellness practices.

A senior officer, MHA said that
the combination of the scientific and traditional health services would push Uttarakhand towards the cherished vision of Developed Devbhoomi by    making its government employees mentally healthy and empowered.
