In latest news from Dehradun, hotels, restaurants and dhabas will remain open for 24 hours across the State on the New Year’s Day. On receiving clearance from the State government, the labour ministry issued the order on this matter, facilitating the tourists who will throng the hill stations and other tourist spots to celebrate the advent of the New Year. Those engaged in tourism trade and the local people have welcomed the move. Meanwhile, tourists have started arriving in the State from across the country in large numbers and the hotels and the resorts record full occupancy this festive season. It is hoped that there would be massive tourist footfalls in the places marked for winter tourism with possibility of snowfall as per the meteorological department’s forecast.
