A memorandum of understanding between the umbrella brand of Uttarakhand, House of Himalayas and Amazon India was inked in presence of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the State secretariat on Friday.
The CM launched the ‘house of Himalayas’ on the e-marketing portal of Amazon India on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion the CM said that the House of Himalayas brand was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Global Investors Summit held in the month of December last year. He said that the objective of launching the brand was to ensure that the local products of Uttarakhand have a global reach. The CM said that most of the work of processing of the local produce and production is done by the self help groups. The women self help groups are getting strengthened by the brand and efforts are being made to support their livelihood. He said that the local products of Uttarakhand can be purchased through e- marketing portals from different parts of the country and world.
In the programme the CM directed the secretary rural development to categorize the different products of house of Himalayas such as GI products, organic products, food products and aromatic products and ensure that their branding of each of them is done separately.
