In latest news from Uttarakhand, in continuation of the drive against unauthorised constructions, the Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA) has sealed a warehouse being constructed at Suman Nagar. The HRDA officers said that notice and order had been sent to the owner of the warehouse Asish Chauhan, drawing his attention to the fact that no map had been approved for the construction of the 3000 sq m warehouse and so the construction was illegal. As the owner carried on with the work despite the notice and order, the HRDA team reached the site, sent away the workers and sealed the under-construction property. Besides, the HRDA team sealed 35 bigha land in Sarai village where unlawful plantation activities were going on. The HRDA senior officers warned that if the seals are tampered with and the illegal activities are resumed stern actions would be taken against the perpetrators. Informing this, the HRDA vice-chairman Anshul Singh urged those who are building warehouses in residential land to change the land use and submit new maps for approval and if such activities are carried on despite the owners having received notices the HRDA would seal such properties.
