Uttarakhand Congress publicity committee head Sumit Hridayesh said that he will undertake the Indira Vikas Sankalp Yatra to facilitate completion of stalled development works in the Haldwani Assembly constituency. He will establish direct communication with the public and focus on getting public welfare works completed with the support of the citizens.
Addressing the media three months after the demise of his mother and former leader of opposition Indira Hridayesh, he said that he will strive to complete the unfulfilled dreams of his mother including the construction of ISBT in Haldwani, a zoo and ring road. He opined that Haldwani and other parts of the Kumaon region were now lagging behind in development. If the stalled developmental works are completed, it will create major scope for employment and self employment at the local level. He also said that the demise of his mother had left a gap hard to fill in both the Congress and the Haldwani region.
