Hyderabad municipal polls: TRS bags 55, but BJP leaps to 48
Voters of Hyderabad have thrown a “hung verdict” in the GHMC elections, the results of which were announced on Friday. None of the parties could secure the magic figure of 76 out of 150 seats.
However, the ruling TRS has emerged as the single largest party bywinning 55 seats out of total 150 seats it had contested. TRS tally came down to 55 from 99 seats it won in 2016.
The BJP which has given a tough fight to TRS right from the beginningof the polls, stood second by winning 48 seats out of 149 seats it had contested. The BJP had just 4 seats in 2016.
