The managing director of UJVN Limited (UJVNL) Sandeep Singhal said that hydropower projects are contributing significantly to the economic and infrastructural growth of Uttarakhand. He said this after receiving a Phd degree during the convocation ceremony held at UPES on Saturday. Singhal received the Phd degree for his successful research on the topic of ‘Benefit Sharing with Project Affected Families for Expediting Hydro Power Development in Uttarakhand’.
Singhal emphasised the importance of timely completion of these projects, as it not only strengthens the State’s electricity sector but also generates revenue. He highlighted the significance of cooperation between the local communities and those affected by the projects, stating that excellent coordination is crucial during the construction and operation phases. Officials of UJVNL said that Singhal’s research will be helpful in the timely completion of the under-construction projects of UJVN Limited.
