Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic enthusiasm at The Asian School, Dehradun. The special occasion started with the hoisting of the tricolour by the principal Ruchi Pradhan Datta in the school premises followed by the singing of the national anthem.
While a class 11 student Akshat Verma delivered a patriotic speech in Hindi another class 11 student Bappy Kundu made an equally passionate speech in English. The student’s choir group presented a patriotic song then.
The principal in her address remembered emotionally the armed forces which are standing guard on the country’s borders with sleepless vigil. She urged all, particularly the students, to fulfil their duty to the nation and the world.
