Considering the possibility of protests and demonstrations against the tabling of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill in the Assembly session, the additional director general of police (Crime, Law and Order) AP Anshuman has ordered all police district in-charges to identify all such organisations that can potentially stage protests or raise ruckus in public places. The police should also activate the informer system and make necessary arrangements to tackle any situation. He stated this during a meeting with senior police officials on Thursday.

The ADG also directed the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh to make traffic plans in advance considering protests and demonstrations to ensure minimum inconvenience to the public.

The ADG asked him to utilise the police force provided by various districts to ensure peace, law and order. He also ordered the officials to deploy an adequate number of security personnel on the towers and water tanks among others situated within the vicinity of the Vidhan Sabha building to ensure no person can climb there and create unwanted situations. Several security personnel should also be appointed in crowded places of Dehradun like bus stands, railway stations, taxi stands, main marketplaces, parks, hotels and religious places. He also directed the designated nodal officers to take the smallest incident occurring in their respective districts seriously during the session and take immediate action as per the rules.
