IDES officer from Haridwar village gets Raksha Mantri award

A native of the Panjanheri village in Haridwar district was recently presented with the Raksha Mantri award by Defence minister Rajnath Singh. A 2015 batch officer of the Indian Defence Estates Service (IDES), Abhinav Singh who received the award is currently serving at Jodhpur in Rajasthan. The Defence minister presented the award at a function held recently in the national Capital for defence land survey and e-Chhawani completing one year. The IDES is responsible for the lakhs of acres of defence lands spread across the nation along with the 62 cantonments in different parts of India.
Abhinav Singh was selected in the civil services examination conducted by the UPSC. He has done his education till inter level in Haridwar after which he did BTech in Pantnagar university and then an MBA from Mumbai. His grandfather Shyam Singh Chauhan was dean and professor in Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla. His parents were teachers at the village junior high school. The villagers are enthused by Singh receiving the award from the Defence minister. His brother Anuj Chauhan said that he had enhanced prestige of the area.
