IIT Roorkee, Kyoto University launch joint research lab on healthy aging

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee announced the inauguration of the joint lab at Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan on Tuesday The lab has a focus on healthy aging starting with eye vision in collaboration with Narayan Netrayalaya. This KU-IITR joint initiative aims at performing transformational research and innovation combining areas of Biology, Chemistry, AI/ML, Water and Dietary-habits.
The director of IIT Roorkee, Prof Kamal Kishore Pant lauded the event, saying that the joint lab marked a milestone in IIT Roorkee’s journey to expand its global footprint and impact.
The president of Kyoto University, Nagahiro Minato said that by combining their strengths in the fields of chemistry and bioinformatics, IN-CBI would create a foundation for groundbreaking discoveries and lasting societal impact.
The deputy chief of mission, Embassy of India, Tokyo R Madhu Sudan conveyed his congratulations on the initiative, statingthat theestablishment of the IN-CBI lab reflected the deepening India-Japan scientific partnership.
