The Uttarakhand Congress has alleged corruption in the State Warehousing Corporation by its managing director (MD) Man Singh Saini who purportedly recruited several of his friends and relatives illegally in various posts of the corporation which comes under the Cooperative department. The chief spokesperson of Congress Garima  Dasauni said that Saini misused his position in the department and executed the appointments of 39 personnel in 2017, exactly a day before the imposition of the model code of conduct (MCC) in the State before the assembly elections as per the information received through the Right to Information (RTI) act. She said that considering irregularities on this matter, the then secretary Meenakshi Sundaram even issued a letter condemning the act of Saini and imposed a penalty on him. Despite this, Saini got a promotion in the department soon after this incident, added Dasauni. She also questioned how Saini appointed several people in various posts when the structure of the Corporation was not approved at that time. She said that it is also questionable how he appointed nine technical assistants when the Corporation has approved only one post as per the rules. She alleged that Saini has also regularised several employees which is not possible without any big transactions within the department. She further revealed that the regular sanctioned posts of peon, watchmen and assistant workers are zero as per the revised structure of the corporation but Saini allegedly appointed 23 people on these posts against the rules. The Congress leader said that Saini flouted several norms and conducted many irregularities in the past six years and it is yet to be seen what chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami plans to do against such corruption charges.
