As part of the ongoing campaign against illegal drug trade in the district, a joint team of Dharasu police and Revenue department destroyed illegal opium cultivation in Banchaura area. Dharasu police acted on the information about illegal cultivation of opium in Maladi and Devidar areas of Jeshtwari village in Banchaura. The Dharasu police station in-charge Dinesh Kumar said that the banned opium/poppy crop grown on about three hectares i.e. 15 nali land was destroyed.
