IMA PoP prelude- Pipping ceremony of Vietnamese officers held
The Pipping Ceremony was conducted few days in advance at the request of Vietnamese embassy
In a departure from normal procedure, a pipping ceremony of three Gentlemen Cadets (GC) from friendly foreign country Vietnam was held at the imposing Chetwode hall of the Indian Military Academy (IMA) here on Wednesday. The ceremony was held as a prelude to the Passing out Parade (PoP) Autumn Term 2020.
The Pipping Ceremony was conducted few days in advance at the request of Vietnamese embassy so that all Vietnamese trainees across Indian Army Training Establishments could return to their country together on successful completion of respective training, within efforts under Vande Bharat Mission.
A communiqué from the IMA said, “These Vietnamese Gentlemen Cadets are part of the 208 Foreign Trainees from 11 friendly countries currently undergoing training at IMA despite Covid-19 constraints. Vietnam has traditionally maintained strong ties with India and these efforts are part of our military diplomacy efforts towards further strengthening this strong partnership’’.
