Subsidy of Rs 90 crore transferred to 40 industrial units under the IDS-2017

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami digitally transferred a sum of Rs 90 crore to 40 industrial units as grant from the government of India under the Industrial Development Scheme (IDS) on Saturday. Under IDS 2017, the Government of India provides a subsidy of 30 per cent on the total investment on the plant and machinery to the infrastructure and service sector units in the Himalayan states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The maximum limit of subsidy is Rs three crore and is provided to encourage industrialisation in the two States.
In his address the CM expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the union industries and commerce minister Piyush Goyal for providing assistance to the State under the IDS -2017 to encourage industries. He said that the IDS is an important scheme for encouragement, protection and expansion of the industries in the State. Informing about the global investors summit proposed to be held in Dehradun in December this year, the CM said that agreements worth Rs 55,000 crore have been signed with different industrial houses and investment groups during the meetings held in London, Birmingham, New Delhi, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
He said that the State government is working on grounding all the agreements inked so far before the summit proposed on December 8 and 9 this year in Dehradun. Dhami said that the government has started implementing the suggestions received in these meetings. He added that assessment of all the proposals received will be done and then further action will be done. Dhami said that priority will be accorded to the proposals and agreements helping to provide employment to local people and those intending to strengthen the primary sector in the State. He added that the State government has formulated policies keeping in mind the interests of investors, industry and people of Uttarakhand.
The secretary of Industries Vinay Shankar Pandey, director general of Industries Rohit Meena and officers of the department were among those present on the occasion.
