In a first, Kainchi Dham fair pilgrims to get HEMS

In latest news from Uttarakhand, with the annual fair at the Neem Karoli Baba-hallowed Kainchi Dham commencing on June 15 to mark the shrine’s foundation day, there will be helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) for the first time for the pilgrims. The administration sources said that if any pilgrim is found ill he would be first transported to the local medical centre and if his condition warrants his transportation to a higher centre he would be flown by the choppers which would be kept ready for medical emergency. The Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat said that the helicopters would be used only in emergency medical cases. He further said that 14 parking spaces have been identified along the stretch from Bhowali and Garampani where over 1500 vehicles could be parked. Moreover, 150 roadways buses will be requisitioned for the pilgrims coming to the shrine and going back.
Besides, the whole of the fair area will be kept under round the clock CCTV surveillance as well as surveillance by drones.
