‘Inauspicious’ period may delay formation of new government

Sunday, 13 March 2022 | PNS | New Tehri

Astrological calculations appear to be delaying the formation of the new government in Uttarakhand despite BJP getting a clear majority in the recently concluded Assembly election in Uttarakhand. If sources are to be believed the new government will be formed after the festival of Holi. The reason behind this is being stated to be astrological calculations as per the Hindu calendar.

According to astrologers the eight-day period before Holi termed Holashtak is considered inappropriate for undertaking any auspicious work.

According to Hindu belief, there is a practice of not undertaking new works during the Holashtak period, which is why the BJP may defer the formation of its new government in the state. The Holashtak period this year is from March 10 to 17.
