In latest news from Doon, with the general election drawing near, the opposition Congress is rolling up its sleeves to give the BJP a tough fight in all the five seats up for grabs in the State. The State Congress leaders said that a meeting of the INDIA bloc leaders is all set to be held at the State party headquarters in Dehradun where they would brainstorm on the strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha election. The State party president Karan Mahara will attend the meeting and is likely to stress on the bloc constituent leaders facilitating a straight fight between the BJP and the Congress by not fielding candidates of their own. A senior State party leader said that with the election proving to be tough for the Congress with the BJP set to accentuate the religious polarisation post-Ram Lalla consecration, the opposition bloc constituents should refrain from unleashing their candidates on the fray to cut into the Congress votes.
