The Congress announced that along with INDIA bloc parties, it would boycott certain news anchors for spewing out invectives against them. Releasing a list of 14 such anchors, the Congress’s national spokesperson Pawan Khera accused them of opening a ‘shop of hatred’ every evening. “We do not hate these anchors but we love the country more,” declared Khera and added that the INDIA bloc leaders would no longer be customers for such hatred-spewing shops. Following this decision, the INDIA alliance partners would not send their representatives to the TV debates and analytical programmes to be conducted by the listed anchors.
