The Union Home Minister Amit Shah averred that India is on track to host the Olympics in 2036 while addressing the closing ceremony of the 38th National Games held at the International Sports Complex in Haldwani. Among others present were the Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Uttarakhand chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Hailing the glitch-free conduct of the Games by the State government, Shah said that now ‘Devbhoomi’ has become ‘Khelbhoomi’ thanks to this achievement. He further said that sports infrastructure had been built in every district of the State and enthused by the government’s endeavour, the sportspersons of the State have excelled. “Now, truly, Devbhoomi has morphed into Khelbhoomi,” he added.
