Lansdowne to be named after Late CDS Gen Bipin Rawat

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that cultural upliftment of India is taking place under the leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi and the country is regaining its old glory. Addressing a programme in the Government Postgraduate (PG) College Chaubattakhal in Pauri on Friday, the CM said that large numbers of schemes are being implemented in the State. He said that many forgotten places, heroes and moments of glory are being remembered again and India is on the road to become Vishwa Guru. The CM said that Uttarakhand has implemented the new Sports policy and it has become the first State in the country to implement National Education Policy (NEP)-2020. He said that the State would soon implement uniform civil code and for this an expert committee has been set up. Dhami said that a strict anti-copying law has been implemented in the State under which there is a provision of 10 year of imprisonment and confiscation of property of mafia involved in cheating. The CM said that the youngsters preparing for the competitive examinations should remain free from any suspicion now as the State government has brought many culprits behind the bars.

 The CM laid the foundation stones and inaugurated developmental projects worth Rs 29.11 Crore on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion the cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj said that the BJP government has removed the article 370 and 35 ( A). He said that the State government has given 30 per cent reservation in the government jobs to the women of Uttarakhand. The State government has also provided 10 per cent horizontal reservation to the statehood activists. Maharaj said that a strong law to prevent religious conversions has been made and work is underway to hand over 29 subjects to Panchayats. A sum of Rs 10,000 is being given to the Pradhans for works of emergency nature.

 In the programme the minister proposed that Lansdowne town should be named after the martyr and former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat. The CM immediately endorsed the proposal of Maharaj. The CM also inspected the stalls of different departments on the occasion.

 The president of Pauri district Panchayat Shanti Devi, Lansdowne MLA Mahant Dilip Rawat, Pauri MLA Rajkumar Pori, president of State BJP Mahendra Bhatt and others were present on the occasion.
