India’s stature rising steadily in global community: Rajnath Singh
Says the country is set to become an economic superpower by the year 2047

Defence minister Rajnath Singh said that the stature of the country has risen in recent years and the voice of India is being heard with seriousness in the international forums. He said this while speaking at the fifth convocation ceremony of Swami Rama Himalayan University, Jolly Grant on Saturday. The Union minister said that today India is making its presence felt on the global map of digital technology. In the year 2014 there were 400-500 start ups in the country which has risen to more than 80,000 now. Young entrepreneurs have made more than 100 unicorns and every month seven to eight unicorns are coming up, he said.
Singh said that recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi had presided over the commissioning ceremony of INS Vikrant and with it India became the sixth country in the world that have the capacity to build aircraft carriers. Congratulating the students, Singh said that the convocation ceremony gives the message of culture and not education. He said that learning is a continuous process in life, similarly, success and failure go hand in hand. Exhorting the students to learn team spirit from the recent FIFA world cup Singh said that PM Modi is working with team spirit and the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ has its genesis in this spirit. He said that if the youngsters move forward from the individual achievement and think about social betterment then they would achieve major successes. Singh averred that the future belongs to India and said that he firmly believes that by the year 2047 India would be on the number one position in the economic field. He exhorted the medical students who received degrees to always serve the poor and needy and asked them to remain away from consumerism. Speaking on the occasion chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed confidence that the guidance given by the Defence minister would infuse new energy into the students. He said that Swami Rama had dedicated his entire life for the welfare of the society. The CM said that in the last eight years India under leadership of PM Modi has emerged as a super power in the health sector. He said that when the world was suffering from Covid-19 and an environment of fear prevailed everywhere India under the leadership of PM Modi provided guidance to the world by giving two vaccines. He said that world class medical facilities are now available in Uttarakhand.
The Education and Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that special attention is needed in the field of vocational education and skill development.
The vice chancellor of the SRHU Vijay Dhasmana said that the mission of Swami Rama was to ‘serve the mountain’ and the institute is moving forward to fulfil the mission.
