Internatinal Yoga Festival concludes in Rishikesh
The 29th international Yoga festival organised jointly by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board and Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam concluded in Rishikesh on Sunday. The governor Baby Rani Maurya presided over the concluding ceremony which was also attended by the Vidhan Sabha speaker and Rishikesh MLA Prem Chand Agrawal, Tourism minister Satpal Maharaaz, AYUSH minister Harak Singh Rawat and Rishikesh mayor Anita Mamgain among others.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that Yoga is the ancient heritage of India which does the task the providing energy to people among other effects.
The Vidhan Sabha speaker Prem Chand Agrawal said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had played a vital role in popularising yoga throughout the world in recent times.How to remain disease free by practicising Yoga is a message that has been broadcast across the world now, he said.
The Tourism minister Satpal Maharaaz opined that the nation can become stronger with the power of Yoga. AYUSH minister Harak Singh Rawat said that the sapling of the international yoga week planted about three decades ago has matured now. This is a matter of pride, he said.
The GMVN managing director Ashish Chauhan, general manager Jitendra Kumar and others were also present on the occasion.
