International seminar to be held on Nishank’s writings

An international seminar on the writings of former Union Education minister, Haridwar MP and writer Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ will be held in Rishikesh on May 1 and 2. More than 500 intellectuals, writers and educationists from across India and abroad are expected to attend this meet.
Addressing the media here on Friday, the patron of Sunday Book Talks webinar and author Yogendranath Sharma said that the Himalaya Virasat Nyas, Uttarakhand had started the Sunday book talks on Nishank’s writings on February 16 last year held every Sunday evening for an hour. On completion of 50 webinars the World Book of Records acknowledged it to be the longest running webinar talk on the works of one writer while the completion of 75 episodes was noted in the Harvard World Records. This series will complete 108 episodes on April 30.
The two-day international seminar is being held to mark this achievement. The governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh will inaugurated the event at the Paramarth Ashram in Rishikesh. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is also slated to attend the event.
Noted writers from across the nation and about a dozen nations will be attending this event along with educationists and lovers of the Hindi language.
