The International Yoga Festival will be held in Rishikesh from March 1 to March 7. Ahead of the event, the Tourism minister Satpal Maharaj held a meeting with the officials concerned of the Tourism department and other associated bodies to review preparations and give necessary directions on Thursday.
During the meeting at the Tourism Directorate, Maharaj discussed the festival’s outline, management and arrangements with officials. He stated that the event will feature programmes on yoga, meditation, health and wellness, with participation from yoga teachers and practitioners from different countries.
He directed officials to ensure all arrangements are in place well in advance. He also instructed that local artists and yoga gurus should be given priority in the festival. He said the event will provide an opportunity to learn about various yogic practices and receive guidance from spiritual leaders and yoga teachers.
