To commemorate the International Women’s Day, the State government is launching Mahila Sarathi Yojana meant for the financially unprivileged women with special focus on widows and abandoned women on Saturday. Under this scheme, the eligible women will be provided driving training and several livelihood options.
The implementation of the scheme will begin with the launch of a six-month pilot project with 10 e-scooty, two e-auto and two e-taxis. To ensure security of these women, GPS tracking along with other safety facilities will be provided.
Informing this, the State Women and Child Development minister Rekha Arya said that the pilot project would be launched at the Yamuna Colony-based camp office and she would be the first passenger.
